Film reels

Silent home movies from the 1950s through the ’70s. Each reel is scanned one frame at a time, so the film is handled gently and every frame is captured.

1 reel = 1 item.

Getting them ready

  • Keep each reel in its can or box, with any labels.
  • Our film scanner captures picture only, so sound on sound-stripe films isn’t included.
  • We don’t do 16mm film. Ask us and we’ll point you to someone who does.
  • Film that smells of vinegar, or is brittle or warped, may not be safe to run. We’ll check it and tell you first.
